However, most European banks have branches in Romania and ATMs are available almost everywhere. The LEU (RON) (singular \u201cleu\u201d; plural \u201clei\u201d) is the Romanian currency. The exchange rate EUR-RON is approximately 1 EUR = 4,57 RON. Foreign currencies may be exchanged at banks or authorized exchange offices (called: \u201ccasa de schimb\u201d or \u201cbirou de schimb valutar\u201d). International airports and larger hotels also offer currency exchange services.<\/p>\n<h3>Local time:\u00a0Eastern European Time (EET): UTC\/GMT +2 hours<\/h3>\n<h3>International country code Romania: +40<\/h3>\n<h3>Electricity<\/h3>\n<p>Romania&#8217;s electrical current is 230 V. 50 cycles and sockets take the standard continental European dual round-pronged plugs. A plug adaptor is required for non-European appliances. Please remember that simple adapters do not convert voltage or frequency. A power converter is necessary for appliances requiring 110 V.<\/p>\n<h3>Weather<\/h3>\n<p>The weather in Bucharest in June can be relatively hot, around 30 C degrees. Please keep this in mind when planning your trip.<\/p>\n<h3>Where to go out<\/h3>\n<p>The Old City Centre (\u201cCentrul Vechi\u201d in Romanian) has lots of pubs, caf\u00e9s and restaurants where you can go out for a drink, for eating or for clubbing. It can be reached by metro (stations Universitate or Unirii).
